“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.”
~ Genesis 1:29 (KJV).
It has been said that food brings families together, and that the kitchen is a place where memories are homemade and seasoned with love. Our North River family is living proof that both are true. A fellowship lunch is served each Sabbath immediately following the worship service. Visitors are always welcome to stay for the meal, wherein we are able to serve each other, through fellowship and conversation, by enjoying together the scrumptious vegetarian dishes and vegan dishes contributed by our members.
We delight in taking portions of the meals to members who are homebound due to illness, people who are homeless, and others whom we know to be in need of extra nourishment and caring from time to time.
Those involved in food ministry also combine energies with ones in health ministry, to coordinate efforts in vegetarian cooking classes, church socials, and the like.
